Daycare Program
19 months - 5 years
Monday – Friday 7 AM- 5:30 PM
Our Learn Through Play philosophy based on the idea that children begin their lives by playing. From their play activities, they learn about the world around them and they learn the skills they need to grow. Eventually, through that learning, they grow. They grow mentally, physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively.
We believe that children are active learners who explore the world with body, mind and senses. We provide environments and experiences to engage the children in active, creative and meaningful exploration, play and inquiry.
“Play is not a break from learning – it is the way young children learn”
learn through play Children:
- Exploring and engaging in new experiences
- Interacting with other children and adults
- Being physically active
- Talking to themselves
- Meeting physical and mental challenges
- Being shown how to do new things.
- Practicing and repeating new and emerging skills.
Meals and snack
WE are providing morning snack, hot Lunch, and afternoon snack daily. We also provide 2% milk and water for your child. Menus are posted on our family information boards. We do not serve juice. We serve whole grains, fresh fruits and veggies, organic whenever possible, and lean meats.
Diapering
We believe that diaper changes are an excellent opportunity for one-on-one interaction with your child. The teachers will sing, play and talk with your child while changing his/her diaper. We follow all public health guidelines for diaper changing routines. The diaper change area is disinfected after every diaper change and the teacher will wash her hands after every change. Parents are required to bring in diapers and wipes for their child.
Children from 3 years and up should be toilet trained and diapers free.
Nap Time
children have their own cot. Please ensure that your child has a sheet and blanket for their bed. Your sheet blanket will be sent home every Friday for washing. Please remember to return it to the centre on Monday. Please let us know how your child normally falls asleep.
i.e. with pacifier, teddy, etc. The children go down for their naps after lunch, around 12pm. Children who do not normally sleep will be given quiet activities.
Children From 3 years – 5 years no nap time.
Toilet Training
We believe that each child develops at his or her own pace. With this in mind we will never force a child to sit on the toilet or potty. at each diaper change, we will ask your child if they would like to try sitting on the potty.
